The Chandy Trophy

The Chandy Trophy is the oldest parachuting trophy in Great Britain.
The trophy was donated to the club in 1961 by The Chandy Bottling Company through Mike Pearce,
a friend of Doc Robertson who worked for the company.
From 1961 to 1968 the trophy was awarded jointly to the Open Champion at the Scottish National Championships and to the Scottish Champion
from the same competition. From 1969 to 1972 the trophy was awarded to the best overall Scottish
Competitor at the British National Championships as there were no Scottish Championships during this time. The SSPA formed in 1973 and
resumed the running of the Scottish Championships, and the trophy returned
home.
Originally the trophy was awarded for the overall Individual Champion in both disciplines of Style and Accuracy. Since the year 2000, it
has been awarded to the winner of the Senior Individual Accuracy
competition at the Scottish Championships.
